The Arts Society Mid Kent was founded in 1979. It is a community of art lovers who share a common interest and commitment to the arts.

Lectures
We offer a programme of illustrated lectures on a wide range of subjects, from fine and applied arts, including architecture, furniture, music, ceramics, paintings and many others. They are given by professional lecturers who are experts in their chosen fields and accredited by The Arts Society.
Our monthly lecture meetings:
- Held on the 4th Tuesday of each month.
- In the Sutton Valence Village Hall.
- Starting at 10:15am with coffee and social and followed by the lecture at 10:45am.
- Please endeavour to be in the hall by 10:30am, thank you.
Members guests and visitors are very welcome, although we do ask that they book in advance.

Volunteers
Arts Volunteers
We promote and fund activities in our local communities to foster and develop an interest in the Arts.
Education
TASMK has entered into an five year agreement with the University of Creative Arts, Canterbury.
- There are two £2,000 and one £1,000 annual student bursaries.
- In addition TASMK will award an annual £1,000 Fine Arts prize.
These awards are funded by our Elizabeth Hammond fund.
Heritage Volunteers
Alas, we have no volunteers.
Church Recorders
Church Recording rejoins TAS. (TAS AGM 16/9/25)
The Church Recorder volunteers are completing their work on the 9th church, St Nicholas's Church, Otham. We are looking forward to hearing about their work in the not too distant future.
The Art Society Mid Kent members automatically benefit from becoming members of The Arts Society, at the national level and receive a magazine on the arts three times a year. Plus their monthly email.
